HOW WE STARTED
Tuttle's Backhoe & Trenching was started by Max Tuttle in 1966. Max and his father worked all over southern and central Indiana, working on roads, interstates, and new factories and then expanding into backhoe and trenching. The business would grow and manage maintenance for local rural water company besides doing residential work.
In 1989, Max and his son Scott worked side by side for the next 31 years, doing residential and commercial work and digging swimming pools for various companies in many counties. Since Max passed away in 2023, Scott has continued to operate the family business, performing the highest-quality work possible with the best materials available.
